So, after writing a long ass post about getting out of debt and saving money (while still spending), I went out and dropped some cash on this blog.

Yup, you read correctly.

The blog design probably looks a bit crappy, don’t you think? I’ve been whining about how I want a new design, and since I’m a bit impulsive, I went out and purchased the Thesis Theme for WordPress.

Here’s the thing. I regularly want a new blog redesign. I like changing things up. While I absolutely adored my previous design by Yellow and Savvy, I just wanted to mix things up a bit. I unfortunately can’t pay for a new blog redesign every three to four months. So whats a girl to do? Duh, purchase Thesis! With Thesis, I can regularly customize the blog on my own. Which makes me pretty happy. I can change the fonts and play with the headers and backgrounds.

There is a slight problem. Well, I don’t know if I’d  necessarily consider it a “problem”… more of an obstacle. See, I don’t really know how to use Thesis, and I’m not the best graphic designer in the whole wide world. But there is nothing this girl likes more than a little challenge. So, please be patient with me while I tinker with my new software and create my own little design for the blog.

I mean, the name of the site is Reinventing Erin, right? It’s a bout time for a little change.

*Any graphic designers out there want to work on my header?

I was talking to Micaela about  Osama bin Ladin’s death and my sordid emotions, and she sent me a quote I really liked, so I’m sharing it with you. I asked her if she minded if I shared it on my blog, and she said “Nah, I don’t think Martin Luther King would mind too much.

THIS…is just another reason I am proud to have Barack Obama as my President. How awesome is it that he posted an “It Gets Better” video?

I think that kids, especially the younger ones, will be really moved by seeing the leader of their country step up and share his support and opinion. 

I am a huge supporter of Gay Rights, and I wish that America could be less prejudice and more accepting. I think that the President of the United States posting a video like this is just fantastic. The rights of gays and lesbians unfortunately isn’t caught up to heterosexuals, but having the leader of our country speak directly to folks being bullied because of their sexual identity is a sign that maybe this country is moving in the right direction.
